UPDATE FROM THE CHAIRPERSON - AUTUMN 2020
Sept 22, 2020
As I sit writing this, I can't quite believe it's been two months since our last article for the Parish Magazine. Autumn is upon us but we remain in hope of an Indian summer to make up for the last few weeks of summer!
Following our last article in the August edition, and the announcement of the October 2020 Virgin London Marathon being cancelled for a second time, we are sorry to announce that our marathon runner has decided to withdraw from the London Marathon rescheduled for Oct 2021. Kathryn Coulter was on schedule with her training and achieved a half marathon. We wish to thank her for all her hard work and training that she had to juggle alongside looking after a young family and working.
As a result, we will request a refund for her place due to continued uncertainties around Covid but hope to be awarded a roll over place another year.

The Committee continues to meet virtually on a regular basis and we are pleased to say that Richard Downes is now a fully fledged Trustee following our AGM in July 2020, and we are very pleased to have him on board.
Rosie Hickey-Colman, one of our new committee members is creating a new website for us and hoping to launch this later this year. You will be able to access the website to view updates, committee members, information about events, contact page, a donate page, testimonials and photos - so watch this space........
Like many other organisations, we have been unable to plan or organise any future fundraising activities, but hope that we can organise some events in the near future. We are very grateful for donations we have received this year and we are pleased to say we remain in a financial position to continue support for Flamstead residents.

We would like to reiterate that we continue to have access to a Covid Hardship fund that we would like to use to assist Flamstead residents. If you need help we urge you to let us know using the contact details below to discuss in confidence how we may be able to help. Funding is not means tested and does not need to be related to a health need, but is a fund that can be used for a situation directly affected by Covid ie weekly food shop, pay for an essential bill, necessary items ie. school shoes/resources, car repairs, replacing or fixing an essential/faulty appliance or similar.
We are pleased to say we have been able to support Flamstead Primary School, via our Covid fund, to help pay for some necessary resources to enable the school to operate as required alongside the current Covid regulations.

As residents, we ask you to continue to be our eyes and ears of the Charity and to inform us of anyone that could benefit from some practical support following ill health, surgery or bereavement.
